The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government, military, and commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems.
- Lead designer for interior design of government, military, and commercial aviation projects.
- Lead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects.
- Work within a project team of architects and engineers, meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects.
- Assist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program. (CIDA accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design is highly preferred.)
- Minimum 8 years related experience.
- A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.
- Experience in Revit required.
- Experience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumin is preferred.
- Experience with government and military design standards is preferred.
