The Opportunity
This position works out of our Atlanta, GA location in the Heart Failure Division.
In Abbott's Heart Failure (HF) business, we're developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Abbott Heart Failure designs and manufactures complex, life-saving medial devices.
This opportunity enables you to join the Abbott CardioMEMS team where a rapidly growing business opportunity intercepts enormous efficacy for heart failure patients. This position will design, standardize, and implement Operational Excellence methods and projects intended to continuously improve manufacturing system performance. The scope will cover sustaining of a currently functioning manufacturing/R&D location and design of a new manufacturing/R&D site. This person will work closely with multiple departments (operations, quality, and R&D) and collaborate with Operational Excellence experts at other sites to develop and implement projects focused on sustainable continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Creation and technical oversight of capacity, labor, and manufacturing cycle time models
  • Creation of continuous improvement roadmap in coordination with site leadership
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff on maintenance protocols to improve quality and productivity
  • Project management of cross department/site resources to implement the continuous improvement roadmap
  • Development, communication, and interpretation of standardized performance metrics

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
  • BS in Industrial Engineering or related technical field with relevant experience required; advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ Years experience in a manufacturing environment; medical device, semiconductor, and/MEMS experience a plus
  • Six Sigma/Lean/Shingo methods, operations research, maintenance engineering, optimization techniques application experience desired

The base pay for this position is
$71,300.00 - $142,700.00
