Role Description
The position will report to the Vice President, Chief Pricing Officer, Individual Life. The primary role of the Pricing Department is reinsurance pricing and product risk management for Individual Life reinsurance.
Position Responsibilities:
155,000.00 - 259,000.00 USD
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.

Role Description
The position will report to the Vice President, Chief Pricing Officer, Individual Life. The primary role of the Pricing Department is reinsurance pricing and product risk management for Individual Life reinsurance.
Position Responsibilities:
- Price new business deals.
- Adhere to and enhance the risk management and pricing procedures for Individual Life reinsurance.
- Participate in marketing and value-add activities to promote and develop client relationships, traditional market opportunities, and expand GRL market presence.
- Research items affecting life reinsurance pricing to establish best estimate assumptions.
- Assist in the continual development of GRL's actuarial expertise.
- Lead assigned projects and staff.
- Work closely with business partners and provide direction on ways to improve portfolio performance.
- Evaluate new business opportunities and/or programs and share recommendations with business partners.
- FSA with 10+ years of life reinsurance or insurance pricing experience.
- Expertise in establishing pricing/modeling assumptions and consistent profitability (risk/return) metrics given risks and competitive constraints.
- Deep life insurance and rider knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Prior actuarial experience in reinsurance, Life Pricing, and/or assumption development is preferred.
- Formal Project Management training and SOA Predictive Analytics certification are pluses.
- Knowledge of multivariate techniques such as Generalized Linear Models with application experience.
- Knowledge of pricing for Accelerated Underwriting programs.
- Understanding of US reserving and regulatory environment is a plus.
- Understanding of insurance accounting is a plus.
- Experience with developing and / or reviewing treaties and amendments.
- Experience with actuarial software GGY AXIS; data work in R, SQL, MS Excel, PowerBI, and model building are pluses.
- Minimum four-year degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, Finance, Computer Science or related field with proven mathematical skills and analytical ability.
