Job Summary
The HR Generalist manages the administration of HR policies, procedures and programs, and supports departmental development, employee relations, compensation, training, organizational development, and employment.
Essential Functions

  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Identify recruiting sources and strategies
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Train management in such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, and sexual harassment to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Configure HRIS to support ongoing objectives in staffing, compensation, document management, recruiting and performance management
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
  • Support performance management initiatives through the administration of performance improvement plans and other coaching techniques
  • Conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
  • Maintain employee files and other recordkeeping
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Attend safety meetings with other management staff to track safety concerns and to ensure the Company is complaint for OSHA inspections and other audits
  • Conduct on-site recruiting efforts at job fairs, open houses and colleges to attract top talent
  • Oversee internship program to ensure candidate fit, candidate skill development and ongoing Company growth opportunities
  • Administer employee development initiatives to support succession planning and employee growth objectives

Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 4 years of related experience

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 6 years of related experience
  • HR Certification (i.e. PHR/SPH, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
