Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Human Resources Generalist to provide support to the Human Resources Director with a variety of complex and routine administrative services. Under the direction of the HR director perform various HR duties including benefits processing, updating of personnel policies and procedures, compliance with relevant regulations, employee coaching as personnel representative to employees, support staff on human resources issues and questions. Assist HR Director in daily HR administrative and managerial duties.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
- A minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in a position with focus on recruitment, employee benefits, leaves of absence, worker's compensation, and wage and hour law.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws (FMLA, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon, FLSA, ADA, etc.).
- Experience exercising discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and information.
- Knowledge of HR principles and procedures for recruitment, compensation, employee benefits, record retention, employee relations, and personnel information systems.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
- Must be accurate, detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to recognize inconsistencies.
- Must work well in a team-based setting.
- Able to communicate effectively with a diverse employee population.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and pass all criminal history check requirements and drug screenings.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with benefit administration.
- Process benefit paperwork including new hire and current employee changes.
- Perform Background checks on new and existing hires.
- Act as point of contact for assigned teams for all HR related needs with support of HR Director.
- Assist in monitoring performance of team members, create work plans and performance improvement metrics when necessary.
- Assist in investigations.
- Assist in the administration and tracking of employee professional development funds.
- Educate staff and implement OFLA/FMLA and Paid Leave Oregon when appropriate.
- Maintain employee files, including creating and maintaining accurate documentation within files.
- Help recruit and onboard new talent.
- Prepare employee separation paperwork. Oversee processing of final checks and terminating individuals within internal systems who are exiting the agency.
- Process data entries related to wages/salaries, terminations, status, and position changes.
- Assist in the timely filing of HR related reporting such as ACA, EEO, 501 (c) services.
- Tracking and compliance.
- Assist in conducting interviews for prospective employees.
- Attend job fairs with and other employee recruitment events.
- Other duties as assigned.
