At LHP we ensure Functional Safety and Cyber Security development of these systems and technologies by leveraging our core expertise with widely accepted standards such as AUTOSAR, ISO26262, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434.
We are expanding our team in a new location (Erie, PA), and seek a Sr. HIL Applications Engineerwho will lead a small team by
- Designing, developing, and commissioning of Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and upgrading the HILs as needed
- Providing thought leadership and best practice approaches to the deployment and management of a Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) test environment
- Assisting in developing processes, procedures, and related documentation for the smooth operation of the projects
- Participating in meetings, projecting an image of professionalism, capability, and competence
- Analyzing requirements and designing documents and business objectives to prioritize test activities for each iteration
- Supporting the architecture, design, and integration of HIL benches
- Confirming that new software features integrate with control system to meet functionality requirements
- Developing tests to ensure quality, functionality, and safety of software using manual and automated test platforms
- Developing, maintaining, and executing automated and manual test scripts
- Ensuring process compliance and configuration management
- Assisting in the use of data management design, utilization measurement, and other tasks as identified to support the successful launch and integration of a HIL
- Effectively measuring test coverage across various levels of product requirement validation and product variants
- Ensuring traceability of test procedures and test results to requirements and product variants
- Performing root cause analysis, error correction, functional, and risk analysis of system level problems (5 why’s, fishbone, etc.)
- Managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Participating in Test Readiness Reviews
- Performing data analysis and generate test reports
- Performing new functionality, regression, and verification testing on test bench/HIL/vehicle
- Providing technical support, guidance, and collaboration for all software/ hardware implementation for development, test, performance and testing environments
- Applying quality assurance techniques to the work
- Compiling data and defining changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing or overhaul processes for current and new products
- Contributing to delivering innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs
- Coordinating input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
- Providing accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical features are considered and functioning properly
- Aiding the development team for scheduling and maintaining the resources needed to perform automated testing
- Representing the test team in multi-focused team meetings
- Utilizing varying test environments to analyze and verify the system behavior
- Working in cross-functional teams across the organization to architect, implement, and troubleshooting complex solutions
- Mentoring/coaching/training the more junior members of the team
A successful candidate for this position will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in mechanical, electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years’ experience in a test environment
- Basic understanding of embedded control systems and operating environment
- MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW/TestStand, and/or dSPACE environments experience
- HIL systems experience (National Instruments or dSPACE)
- Experience specifying, designing, commissioning Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and/or HIL systems
- Familiarity with scripting and automation
- Understanding of analysis techniques such as DOE and Monte Carlo
- User level of C language
- User level of Scanning/Vulnerability Management tools
- Use of standard electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, logic analyzers
- Experience with setting up and troubleshooting CAN-based networks (other vehicle network experience highly desirable
