- The design focus for this group is automotive electronics in cross-domain computing products.
- Group is responsible for advanced development activities for products that utilize digitalization to personalize, automate, connect, and electrify mobility.
- Development projects cover a range of technology including multi-core/high-speed processors, wired and wireless communication, and audio/video.
Responsible to assist or have full ownership in designing automotive performance compute OEM products such as Infotainment, Connectivity, ADAS and multi domain electronics along with the ability to capture customer and/or marketing requirements to effectively develop and launch mass production automotive products
- Work directly with automotive OEMs to elicit functional/electrical/EMC requirements
- Design OEM products requiring circuits such as switch mode power supplies, power switches, LVDS transceivers, HDMI receivers, USB hubs, embedded MCU, audio/video codecs, and wireless communications links based on standards based RF (e.g. 802.11n, Bluetooth)
- Perform simulations, worst case circuit tolerance analysis, FMEAs, fault tree analysis and similar design disciplines
- Develop/negotiate hardware verification and EMC validation test plans to internal/OE requirements. Manage execution in test lab.
- Perform troubleshooting for validation/vehicle issues via bench level debugging, testing and prototyping.
- Travel as required - some international; mainly traveling to domestic customer locations and global internal locations
Minimum:
- BS in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or similar Engineering discipline
- 7+ years experience in circuit design for electronic hardware projects, preferably at Tier 1 automotive electronics company
Preferred:
- MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Understanding and experience with typical industry practices and OEM customer requirements for design of electrical products
- Full life cycle hardware development experience for automotive electronics products (requirements, concept, component selection, worst case analysis, simulation, validation, production launch)
- Digital design experience with memory interfaces, display interfaces, IIS, I2C, SPI and other high speed serial communication interfaces such as USB 2.0, USB3.0, and HDMI
- Analog design experience with analog circuits including audio, video, and power supplies and RF design capability (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
- Knowledge of proper design methods to reduce RFI, EMI and ESD to pass automotive specifications
- Worked through DVP&R Testing
- Experience using latest equipment including scopes, spectrum analyzers and logic analyzers
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve through both an individual analytical and collaborative approach
