Position Summary

We are seeking a talented Senior Full Stack Engineer with a product-thinking mindset. You will develop and maintain the UI and API layers of our web applications, playing a pivotal role in shaping the user interface. You will lead major feature development and collaborate with cross-functional partners and stakeholders, significantly contributing to our product and delivering exceptional value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers to understand product requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and develop user-friendly, responsive, and visually appealing front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, React, and Typescript.
• Implement and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient back-end solutions using server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Python) and frameworks (e.g., Express, Flask).
• Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Optimize application performance to ensure a seamless user experience across different devices and browsers.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and UI design principles to propose innovative solutions and enhance our product offerings.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by users or identified during testing, and collaborate with team members to implement effective solutions.
• Participate in Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to deliver high-quality product features within planned deadlines.
• Document technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and deployment procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing of our web application systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (8 years) as a Full-Stack Engineer with a focus on UI development.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks/libraries (React and Typescript preferred).
• Strong understanding of back-end development concepts and experience with server-side languages (Python strongly preferred).
• Experience working with SQL, NoSQL, and graph-based databases, and knowledge of ORM frameworks (e.g., Sequelize, SQLAlchemy, Hibernate).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and Microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and data structures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
• Excellent technical project management skills to independently lead the scoping and execution of projects.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Compensation and Benefits: 

• Salary and stock options are negotiated based on experience. 
• Healthcare at the gold-tier level, dental, and vision is fully funded by the employer. 50% of dependent coverage is provided by the employer.
• Unlimited vacation, sick leave, including office closure between Christmas and New Year's, and extended holidays at Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.
• Employer sponsored 401k with a 3% match.
• Hybrid work environment, with 3 days per week required in office in Washington, D.C or New York.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $180,000 depending on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.   In addition to cash compensation, this role is eligible for a stock option grant.
