The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Flash Programming Developer to join our exceptional team. This role will involve the development, validate]ion and maintaining of application software for GM Manufacturing tools and processes. With the nature of increasing complexity of vehicle architecture, a need for flexibility and creativity in software development is needed.
In this role your responsibilities will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards. Your work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to root cause and follow issues to resolve. You will be responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Develop the strategy and code to maintain and debug flash applications using C/C++ programming language.
Debug and root cause issues with vehicle electronic control units affecting testing applications using CAN (ISO15765), UDS (ISO14229), and DoIP (ISO13400) serial data protocols.
Perform software validation in System Benches and support pre-production vehicle builds as required.
Support team members in system verification process, parameter setting and option settings.
Validate boot and software changes made to global components as required. Experience in Agile Software development process.
Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
Maintain regular contact with partners outside the work group
Provide direction to small group of technical employees
Evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
5+ years of experience in embedded software development
C, C++ Computer Language programming skills.
Outstanding Software debugging and troubleshooting experience.
Ability to read and understand CAN (ISO15765), UDS (ISO14229), and DoIP (ISO13400) serial data protocols.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and mechanical systems.
Travel as required
What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Familiar with End-of-Line Assembly Verification systems such as GTS
Familiar with Microsoft Visual Studio for software development
Utility-file and SPS Interpreters experience
Electrical system bench co-related experience
Familiarity with product release processes (SPR/SPD, 3PD, etc)
Vehicle assembly plant/process experience.
Understanding Linux PC system setup and configuration.
This position is not eligible for ISP, ITAP, DTAP or localization.
