Role Summary
This position provides financial guidance, direction, and analytical support for appropriate functional areas and corresponding departments within the organization. The team provides forecasting and variance analyses for all revenue and expense lines across product lines. The team also provides support with ad-hoc analyses to inform business decisions and conducts deep dives into key focus areas for the financial health of the business where needed.
This role reports to the Director, FP&A covering print and mail, direct mail, and digital product lines. The suitable candidate will be a key contributor in analyzing financial performance and determining revenue and profit growth opportunities across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide monthly budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting support to multiple stakeholders.
- Conduct deep dives into revenue and expense lines to understand their drivers and potential levers to enhance financial performance.
- Conduct month-end financial analysis results and trends, and variance analysis, including the consolidation of results and analyses for multiple businesses.
- Lead budget and month-end close reviews with senior management.
- Use financial systems and tools to develop reports, build models, and maintain and analyze large data sets.
- Provide input and recommendations for process improvements by respectfully challenging historical practices.
- Proactively build mutually beneficial relationships with Sales, Operations, Data, Accounting, Treasury, and Human Resources to better understand and use the resources available to the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 3+ years of experience in an FP&A, or strategic finance role, preferably in the manufacturing sector. Open to candidates from various backgrounds that meet other criteria.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Comfortable navigating large data sets, creating pivot tables, and creating Microsoft Access databases.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills. Able to create slides that succinctly communicate the financial story to senior leadership.
- Data lineage, data governance, and information systems experience (SAP, Hyperion, Anaplan, NetSuite or Great Plains) are a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the month-end close process, annual planning, reforecasting, and consolidations.
