Summary/Objective
The Senior Field Applications Engineer will work closely with the commercial team, customers and the engineering team to grow and promote the sale of Axiom Materials through industry leading technical service and product support. The Senior Field Applications Engineer is the initial line of contact with customers when introducing new products, training for processing composite materials, troubleshooting and coordinating the resolution of quality concerns between the customer and Axiom quality. Primary areas of responsibility include customer and commercial team interaction, technical support and product & process engineering support.
Duties/Responsibilities

- Support commercial team through customer technical support in person and virtually
o Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
o Manage and interpret customer requirements – speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.
o Provide recommended products and specification reviews (gap analysis).
o Oversee new external qualifications and in situ qualifications.
o Support Technical Service Engineers with screening tests for new qualifications as needed.
- Support Axiom quality organization by providing first line reporting of customer quality concern, Axiom recommendations and following through to closure of complaint.
- Coordinate activities of laboratory for required technical support activities.
- Write and distribute technical reports on Axiom products processing, customer visits, quality concerns and product development.
- Introduce new products to customers through in person / on-site training.
- Understand and comply with established guidelines that ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure customer project requirements are met.
- Maintaining records of customer communications and contact information as required.
- Making technical presentations at customer visits, distributor training, trade shows and/or webinars.
- Working knowledge of design and engineering tools.
- Research market requirements and market data.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor technical and processing attributes.
- Demonstrate and explain best practices in processing techniques for all Axiom products.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be visiting manufacturing sites and areas and may be subject to typical manufacturing hazards (moving pieces of equipment, loud noises, chemicals, etc.).
Physical Demands
The employee is required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time. Minimal physical exertion is required; however, employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, the employee must remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.
Travel
Will be required to regular customer and trade show visits, which will include air travel. The ability to obtain and maintain a passport for limited international travel is required.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in a job-related discipline or five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in manufacturing products with prepregs, adhesives and/or composite core materials.
· Suggested, five years of technical experience in a composites engineering and/or manufacturing environment.
· Strong & effective communication skills, written and spoken.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings and specifications.
· A strong understanding of the MS office software suite is required.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) due to export-controlled information.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
