I. JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Facilities Technician is a skilled position responsible for both predictive and preventive maintenance of all equipment on a diverse range of systems. This includes facilities, core utilities, and GMP clean utilities common in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry. This includes not only the physical and skilled aspects to the job, but also planning and communicating work, working with software systems to document work performed according to Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Takes initiative and works independently on complex assignments.
· Able to confidently act as facilitator, trainer and team leader on multiperson repairs and projects.
- Fully understands work and provides solutions and recommendations in resolving issues.
- Provide technical and mechanical support on all GMP and Non-GMP utility systems.
- Performs routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) on equipment and systems.
- Execute work orders and document work performed in SAP per Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
- Respond to emergency and alarm conditions and be on-call per scheduled times for emergency service calls and must respond to the site to repair/address issues.
· Perform Corrective Maintenance (CM) on direct impact equipment/systems, which includes RODI, WFI, boilers, Biowaste System, Clean Steam System, Industrial HVAC, Compressed Gases. Also non-impact systems including plant steam, house chilles, heating water systems, etc.
- Oversee the work of outside contractors performing work in the facility.
- Evaluate potential impact to system per current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) when planning and scheduling work, and openly communicate impact with department management and ensures consensus for repair.
- Support campus landscaping, snow removal, pest control systems to ensure safe and excellent site.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, respectful relationship with internal customers.
- Seek ways to increase operational efficiency and reliability as continuous improvements to all processes.
· Participate in 6-S initiatives for Facilities Department and facilitates weekly walk through of buildings, mechanical rooms, and grounds to assure all areas of the site are clean and audit ready every day.
· Provides technical support to other Facility Services teams, Engineering projects, and other departments at site.
III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- Minimum of 6-years’ or greater experience in maintenance
- 2-year trades vocational certificaiton or equivalent experience
· This position requires expertise in at least one specialized maintenance discipline and be proved in applying these skills in the operation, maintenance and repair of manufacturing utility systems with biological processes.
· Must have aptitude for computer systems including maintenance documentation, email, word, excel, building automation operations
· Prior cGMP regulated industry experience is strongly preferred
· Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority
· Must be customer service and quality driven
