Team:
The Dev Test team is responsible for all hazardous testing in our Long Beach facilities. We use our breadth of experience and collaborative engineering approach to support everything from very large structural tests to precise valve actuation. To that end, we design, build, and operate all test assets from initial concept to test execution. If you enjoy working on a multi-disciplinary team with a broad mandate and want to put hands on hardware, then this is the team for you.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Fabrication Technician, you will build the welded test stands, tooling, and printers required to produce our medium heavy lift launch vehicle, Terran R. Relativity is a nimble company that expose you to new challenges on a regular basis. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include metal fabrication, fluid system fabrication, lifting and rigging, welding, machine operation, steel erection, and more. You should be able to build from napkin sketches or detailed drawings while providing constructive feedback to the engineering team.
This position requires a significant amount of self-direction and direct partnership with the engineering team. As the fabrication team grows, you will mentor and learn from your coworkers, both older and younger. It is essential that you communicate clearly and frequently.

What you need to know:
- 10+ years of multi-process welding AC & DC (Certification required)
- Proficient in blueprint reading and layout
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft office, Jira, Confluence)
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mentorship skills
- Comfortable working at heights
- Comfortable operating boom lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, etc.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
- Ability to work non-standard shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to haves but not required:
- Previous experience erecting large steel structures
- Rigging and overhead lift certification
- Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- No previous aerospace experience is required for this position.
