Description: InterAgency is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/NEPA Specialist to join our growing environmental practice. The successful candidate will work alongside executive environmental staff, collaborating on climate-change initiatives in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
Projects will range from preliminary planning to implementation and include the following:
- Subsurface infrastructure to mitigate flooding impacts.
- Large diameter tunnels to remediate combined sewer overflows (CSOs).
- Redesign of existing sea walls to address sea level rise.
- Bridge construction over navigable waterways.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, or Natural Resources Management.
- Experience: 10+ years’ experience in environmental consulting with 5+ years focused on NEPA.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, or Natural Resources.
- Experience with large scale infrastructure implementation projects.
- Clean Water Act experience.
- Natural and cultural resource management and consultation.
Responsibilities:
- Managing NEPA for major infrastructure and resiliency projects.
- Preparing Clean Water Act permit applications.
- Assisting with the development and negotiation of easements, rights-of-entry, and construction staging agreements.
- Coordinating with Federal, State and Local regulators.
- Facilitating clear communication between the project team and external parties.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Accurate and detailed daily timekeeping required.
- Timely communication with clients.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
- Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Employment Conditions:
- Type: Full-time employment.
- Hybrid work arrangement: 2 days in-office/on-site.
- Hours: regular business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 PM (EST).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary commensurate with experience.
- Salary Range: $110,000-$140,000 commensurate with experience.
