AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Planner & Business Development Lead to join our team. You will work collaboratively with planning and engineering staff to support clients with original solutions to challenging problems.

The ideal candidate has a passion for growing a planning practice that transforms local communities through building sustainable and equitable projects by investing strongly in client relationships and Business Development opportunities. The role can be remote or office based out of the Mechanicsburg, PA office.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage in client relationship and Business Development activities to drive the growth of the environmental planning practice in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey
  • Prepare, facilitate, and lead presentations with clients and the public
  • Prepare and oversee development of technical reports, permit applications, and NEPA documents
  • Work collaboratively among other planning and technical disciplines, including Traffic Engineering and Water Resources.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

  • BS Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Ecology or similar + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20 years of experience in the planning and environmental permitting field in Pennsylvania, Delaware and/or New Jersey
  • Experience building client relationships in the transportation sector
  • Experience leading transit or transportation-related environmental planning and permitting efforts in Pennsylvania, Delaware and/or New Jersey
  • Transit or transportation experience, especially PennDOT, DelDOT, NJDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, and/or Amtrak and familiarity with agency processes
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations, specifically the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Experience with the preparation of NEPA environmental documents, including CE’s EA’s and EIS’s for FRA, FTA and/or FHWA

Offered rate of compensation (Pennsylvania locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hour.
