Are you an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional ready to take your career to the next level? This role is ideal if you have experience developing H&S management programs in highly regulated environments.

As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will work closely with the EHS team to deliver corporate EHS policies and training to our facilities in the USA. You will ensure OSHA and other regulatory requirements are being met at our USA based sites: Canventa Life Sciences (based in Emeryville, California) and STEMCELL Technologies (in Kent, Washington).

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in training, interpretation, and application of internal and regional health and safety regulations
  • Implement policies, standard operating procedures (SOP's) and work instructions to meet EHS legislative requirements, and ensure EHS documentation is completed to support company due diligence in ensuring the safety of employees
  • Support and provide guidance on safety inspections. Proactively identify risks and work with management and employees on preventative actions
  • Assist in the investigation of hazard and incident reports to provide recommendations to address safety concerns
  • This role is based in Emeryville, California but it will require periodic travel to Kent, Washington

Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Occupational Health & Safety diploma/degree and/or a degree in a relevant field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Hygiene, etc.) with at least 10 years of relevant work experience required
  • Ability to research and draft global policies and training programs as needed
  • Effectively manage and lead projects and initiatives
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

The salary range for this job is listed below; however, the salary offered may vary depending on the successful candidate's location and qualifications (including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, education, training, skills, and experience). For commission based sales roles the noted salary range is inclusive of target commissions which the successful candidate is eligible to receive based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Field based sales roles may also be eligible for an additional car allowance.

$106,000.00 - $159,000.00

This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, ad&d, short and long term disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; paid holidays, vacation days, personal days, and parental leave; employee assistance program.
