Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Environmental and Range Safety Analyst to support the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation Missile Center (AvMC). We are currently looking for additional resources in accomplishing a large effort of capturing constraints to conducting live training and test events at US locations and certain mission partner nations. By gathering these constraints, we can build a system for military planners that assists them in designing meaningful events while mitigating environmental impacts and abiding by regulatory or operational requirements such as NEPA, CERCLA, CAA, and RCRA.
NOTE: This is a fully Remote / Work from Home position, but must be willing to travel when necessary.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Performs research and assessment of data, then develops, prepares, and produces reports, surveys, descriptive charts, figures and matrices. A subset of the data types include:
- Protected areas due to threatened or endangered species
- Archeological sites
- Air and water quality requirements
- Noise abatement
- Invasive species
- Airspace restrictions/requirements
- Maritime management
- Range safety
- Conduct site surveys and field assessments, including coordination with local and supporting organizations
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and five (5)+ years of related experience; additional six (6) years accepted in lieu of degree
- Experience in interpreting and implementing environmental, airspace, and maritime regulations and policies and assisting organizations accomplish test and training events within those constraints
- Must have knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Thorough understanding and application of industry standard principles, concepts, practices, and standards
- Must travel as needed to Hawaii and other locations within the INDOPACOM area of responsibility on per-diem basis
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance
- Must be a current US Citizen
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
