ePlus is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a national system integrator account and provide presales solution engineering and architecture thought leadership. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a key role in driving product and services sales through technical solutions selling for ePlus. You will be technical business partner with an ePlus Senior Account Executive, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor for the customer.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical expertise to sales teams and customers across multiple solution focus areas.
  • Building credibility and becoming a trusted advisor with both ePlus' sales team and customers.
  • Conducting customer-facing presentations on ePlus' core competencies and technical solution offerings.
  • Assisting the sales team with opportunity qualification, development, and proposal writing.
  • Leading technical scoping/reviews with sales teams and customers for Bills of Material (BOM) and Statement of Work (SOW) generation
  • Functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) for customer technical staff
  • Completing training and maintaining OEM certifications as requested
  • Identifying product or services candidates for new solution areas
  • Participating in weekly pre-sales engineering conference calls
  • Reviewing the current pipeline and forecasting potential revenue
  • Completing administrative tasks (expense, mileage, QBR prep, etc.)
  • Up to 20% travel

Job Knowledge/Skills:
  • Practical understanding and implementation of system engineering principles.
  • Foundational understanding of the challenges/limitations of designing solutions for air-gapped, classified, and proprietary infrastructure solutions.
  • Foundational knowledge of storage solutions and architectures (protocols, sizing, and relevant infrastructure).
  • Foundational knowledge of x86_64 compute architectures, stateless, computing, hyperconverged, virtualization, containers, swarm/orchestration, automation, parallel scale, and big data.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems (Red Hat, Windows)
  • Advanced level knowledge in information security practices, procedures, and solutions such as NGFW, audit logging and reduction, system incident event management solutions, and RMF/STIG/NIST800-53 frameworks.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Cisco and/or Microsoft collaboration solutions to include: core services for call control, signaling protocols (SIP/H323/MGCP), and understanding of various endpoints
  • Expert level knowledge in route/switch networking protocols and telecommunications standards
  • Historical career focused on federal system integrators and the defense industry base
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies

Education and Experience:
  • 4+ years previous experience as a presales solution architect/engineer or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, network, systems architecture, and design or network operations and management
  • 10+ years of industry experience in client-side senior roles, technology integrators, or manufacturers
  • Expert level industry certifications (e.g. CCIE, CCDE, JNCIE, PNCSE, RHCE, MCSE, PNCSE, CISSP etc.)

Desired Additional Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent work experience
  • Architectural and technical experience with applications, infrastructure, cyber, cloud, and networking, data center, and end user experience solutions
  • Deep skills and knowledge as a subject matter expert (SME) in 2 or more critical parts of infrastructure solutions (storage, compute, networking, security, unified collaboration, AI/ML/DL, cloud, and IT audit.
  • Experience consulting with Fortune 500 IT leadership on deployment of technology solutions
  • Familiarity with big data, AI, automation, end user experience, and service management technologies along with cloud technologies

Position Specifics:
The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and $170,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Physical Requirements of Position:
Ability of finger dexterity to be used primarily to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands and / or fingers. Speech ability must be at a level where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing ability must be at a level to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Visual ability must be average with ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. Physical strength for sedentary work with sitting most of the time. May have to exert or lift up to 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally.
