Description:
We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to execute water and wastewater projects in our Reno, NV office. When you join Brown and Caldwell (BC), you will enjoy a unique and welcoming culture. This position is based in our Reno, NV office. This is a key opportunity for an individual who has demonstrated experience in delivery of municipal projects. BC has a longstanding relationship with the municipal clients in northern Nevada and has always been asked to participate in the region’s most challenging and complex water and wastewater projects. BC is at the forefront in advancing technologies and brings that mindset and solutions to our regional partners. Being a part of the BC team will put you front and center in driving the next generations of water and wastewater solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Be responsible for ensuring that we are providing services that add to the value of our clients’ strategic goals and initiatives toward meeting their objectives;
- Identify specific opportunities to build our strategic pipeline to help in meeting our client needs;
- Support and participate in local or regional conferences and events;
- Participate in BC’s QA/QC, risk management and project management processes;
- Support the Nevada operation in collaboration with other project managers, client service managers, local and regional and marketing staff;
- Network and collaborate with colleagues in the Desert Business Unit and other company teams;
- Supervise and coordinate the work of others on projects including remote staff to ensure proper and timely execution on projects;
- Maintain a positive organizational health and safety culture;
- Lead teams to develop and prepare specifications, detailed design drawings, reports, planning, and engineering services during construction;
- Provide technical expertise and quality control review of study, planning and design documents;
- Utilize internal project management tools and resources to provide successful management of large projects that meet or exceed the project success metrics, and;
- Execute activities on projects for master planning and modeling of Water/Wastewater/conveyance systems.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. degree in engineering or environmental science field (Civil, Environmental Engineering, etc.)
- Professional registration in Nevada, or the ability to obtain registration within 6-months
- 6 or more years of increasingly responsible experience in project management, planning and project delivery
- Previous supervisory experience with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to successfully interface with Brown and Caldwell’s local, regional, and national practitioners, as well as to mentor junior staff
- Self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight deadlines; and,
- Collaborative mindset with commitment to the company’s focus on employee balance and belonging
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $94,000 - 128,000
