Position Description

As the Senior Engineer - Surgical Intelligence, you are responsible for the continuous improvement of surgical planning by collecting and leveraging clinical insights, surgeon feedback and advanced data analytics to help the Company consistently develop the optimal alignment plan and devices for each patient, one patient at a time.  You will also work on projects related to proprietary AI based planning and analysis tools.  This role reports to the Director of Medical Affairs, and works closely with Enabling Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and Clinical Affairs.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee the expeditious reconciliation of all plans in which the surgeon proposed parameters exceed defined guardrails; document resolution in case planning records. 
  • Review cases with Medical Affairs and engage clinicians as directed to resolve planning questions.
  • Support the development of 3D models for global alignment planning.  
  • Assist in the measurement of post -op XRs and development of auto measuring tools.
  • Analyze post-operative imaging and incorporate data findings into improved planning algorithms.  
  • Identify possible causes and propose solutions for cases exceeding targeted intervertebral and global alignment.
  • Produce a monthly report of post-operative analyses.
  • Organize, expand and manage central imaging repository. 
  • Be current with clinical literature and update company colleagues on new data related to spinal alignment parameters.
  • Coordinate deliverables with core lab and de-identify images as necessary. 
  • Support project work to develop new intra-operative analysis tools.
  • Assist in the development of plan parameters for the cervical spine.


Qualifications


  • BS degree in a technical field, including Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics or related medical/scientific field; MS or graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in medical devices; experience in spine/orthopedics is highly desired. Experience engaging surgeons at a technical level highly preferred. 
  • Experience with medical imaging systems and medical image analysis preferred.


Skills


  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Python, or equivalent statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats when needed.

Compensation

We are pleased to provide a competitive salary and benefits. Our benefits reflect our investment in the overall health and well-being of our employees and their families. including paying 100% of monthly healthcare, dental & vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with employer matching and unlimited PTO. The expected pay range is: $129,600 to $156,600 annually. Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
