Position Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a large Semiconductor Project within the Manufacturing and Technology Global Business Unit (M&T).

This is a permanent assignment with a location in either Houston, TX or Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assigned activities related to electrical deliverables including, power system studies, one-line diagrams, load list, electrical equipment list, and material requisitions for electrical equipment.
• Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles, practices, standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.) to project engineering in the preparation of designs and deliverables.
• Makes decisions concerning problems within the discipline.
• Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists, designers and detailers.
• Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to supervisor.
• Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators).
• Promotes the creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

• Level One:  BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or international equivalent) with minimum 8 years of progressive relevant experience.
• Level Two:  BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or international equivalent) with minimum 12 years of progressive relevant experience.

• Must have the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
• Knowledge of medium voltage systems (34.5kV / 13.8kV), low voltage systems (480 and 208/120V) which includes but not limited to; Switchgear, MCCs, Switchboard/Distribution Board, Lighting Panel Design.
• Must have prior experience in developing Single Line Diagrams, Control Schematics, Equipment Specification, and Load Lists for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) Projects.
• Prior experience on executing electrical works in EPC projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with Revit MEP or SPR or other 3D Software.
• Previous experience working in Semiconductor manufacturing facilities (not an absolute requirement).
• Experience in resolving complex technical problems and the ability to articulate explanations to a team of engineers and designers are essential.
• Experience in Power System Analysis for Load Flow, Motor Starting, and Short Circuit calculations using ETAP or similar software.
