Senior Ehs Specialist

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Health & Safety/Environmental Specialist to support our existing and growing backlog of projects in the commercial and public market sectors.  This position is located in Pittsburgh, PA, however, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting projects located throughout the US. This position requires the employee to be a US citizen due to the clients we serve.

Your Role:

   Provide onsite and offsite safety and health support to clients
   Prepare or review Health and Safety Plan documents for assigned projects.
   Ability to use of monitoring/sampling instrumentation; technical expertise in selection of hazard controls including engineering, administrative controls and personal protective equipment,
   Possess and maintain expertise with health, safety and environmental regulations and standards, with an emphasis on federal OSHA regulations.
   Prepare or review task-specific job/activity hazard assessments to identify potential hazards and appropriate hazard controls
   Lead/perform HSE audits and assessments (internally and for clients)
   Lead/assist in incident investigations
   Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs policies, procedures, and action plans, including employee training
   Strong technical writing and oral presentation/communication skills
   Provide technical expertise and support to HSE topics including:
o    Occupational exposure assessments, including air sampling and monitoring, noise, ergonomics, radiation, and others
o    HSE project and program auditing
o    Task-specific hazard assessments
o    Hazard Communication
o    Indoor air quality
o    Training development and presentation
 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university in safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, toxicology, or related science.  
• At least 3 years of relevant professional safety and/or industrial hygiene experience is required.  
• Past consulting experience preferred, but not required.  
• Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training (with appropriate annual 8-hour refresher courses) preferred.  
• Possession of professional certification in good standing (either Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist).
