Bon Appétit / Epicurious is seeking a Senior Editor to lead our coverage of the beverage landscape, from industry trends in beer, wine and spritzes to the proliferation of nonalcoholic cocktails, to celebrities investing in boba shops.
The ideal candidate is an effective leader with strong news judgment, who can guide and execute short- and long-form storytelling from pitch to production on multiple platforms including social and video. They can create content plans informed by data and use insights to build engagement with audiences in partnership with the entire organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Generate inviting, useful, and ambitious content about beverages across all platforms including websites, apps, print, social, video, events, etc.
Write, assign, edit, and produce a mix of long-lead assignments, service stories/projects (including social video), and quick-turn pieces in response to news events
Manage beverage content for newsletters and other subscription products
Collaborate with Test Kitchen and E-Commerce editors on related content
Adhere to agreed upon content strategy for editorial calendar, deadlines, and workflows
Cultivate relationships with a diverse cohort of writers and editors - proactively source and bring in new writers and editors for assignments
Requirements:
8+ years writing, editing and producing content at a major publication with a demonstrated portfolio of work in wine, beer, and beverage culture.
Experience producing content within a multiplatform editorial strategy, including print, newsletters, video, and events
Sound editorial judgment, writing, and editing skills
Organized, detail-oriented, able to adhere to tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities and projects.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively cultivate relationships with people at all levels, across departments.
Experience incorporating digital best practices including working in content management systems and SEO.
Hosting and/or video production experience is a plus.
The expected base salary range for this position is from $80,000-$115,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
