Responsibilities
The Senior Editor provides quality control, consistency, and accuracy for the Marketing and Creative team. This position will review and revise written marketing copy and communications, ensuring messaging is consistent, clear, and reflective of brand standards and meets project objectives. In addition, this individual will advise and support copywriters and help develop improved processes for tone and voice standards.
  • Oversee long-form content editing needs; collaborating with the creative team to ensure accurate and compelling written communications.
  • Compile and update style guides as required for all clients, including maintenance of the master community information list and company facts and figures.
  • Serve as primary editor; recommend copy edits that improve the copy's quality, the message's meaning, and the communication goals of the creative strategy; monitor job references.
  • Proofread content at times to ensure structure, quality, consistency, accuracy, and clarity in grammar, spelling, design, style, etc.
  • Write copy for print collateral, advertising, websites, and other materials using established concepts and templates
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and planning meetings with Creative and Marketing teams
  • Responsible for training, developing, and evaluating assigned staff.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism or a related field is required.
  • Four years experience in proofreading, editing or copywriting and/or written communications, preferably in the advertising or marketing field.
  • Familiarity with print design and media terminology a plus.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press style.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Adobe Acrobat
