We are currently interviewing candidates for our solar product client. This Senior Director will own Manufacturing & Supply Chain Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Quality Management Systems.
This person will be part of the team that is responsible for sourcing, manufacturing, and delivering high-quality, high-volume, photovoltaic solar technology solutions that transform today’s roofs. The role will focus on developing systematic productivity systems and delivering world-class quality to our customers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create and nurture a high-quality, intellectually curious, problem-solving culture throughout the organization
- Work closely with internal teams to design new products with quality and manufacturability embedded from design to mass production
- Drive end-to-end product quality with suppliers, internal and downstream teams
- Work closely with Supply Chain and R&D in material & supplier selection processes
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to qualify new materials, implement CoC, deploy parts IQA, and resolve supplier quality issues through SCARs
- Deploy and maintain quality policies, procedures, and quality control systems (QMS)
- Create and refine procedures, policies, SOPs, Forms, and workflows as needed to support quality requirements
- Mentor and coach teams in Quality improvement projects, structured problem solving (8D), and Lean manufacturing projects
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to optimize incoming, in-process and outgoing quality control methodologies, especially Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Perform data analysis and evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement
- Oversee and manage the Supplier Corrective Action Request system and chair the Material Review Board (MRB)
- Manage quality system and product quality-related compliance audits
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What do we require from you?
- BS degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of industrial manufacturing experience, including 5+ years of Quality management and supervisory experience
- Experience in driving supplier quality improvement
- Experience in implementing and managing a robust QMS
- Demonstrated expertise in Continuous Improvement methodologies including Lean, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and A3 strategy deployment
- Experience leading and training cross-functional teams in quality improvement projects and workshops
- Experience in statistical tools and disciplined problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, Cause and Effect, and statistical analysis tools
- Subject matter expert for Quality Plans, FMEA, auditing, corrective and preventative actions, and sampling methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing expansions and start-ups
- Ability to travel within the US and globally as appropriate
