Job Summary
The Senior Director of Finance directs the financial activities of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Prepare the annual budget and work with the CEO and Executive Committee for final approval by the Board of Directors.
- Prepare program budgets for grant applications and prepare the financial reports required by grantors.
- Arrange for the annual fiscal audit.
- Participate in investment planning with the CEO and the Executive Committee with final approval by the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Review company financial statements and tax returns for accuracy and clarity.
- Advise management about insurance coverage for health care and protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets and retain proper accounting records of assets.
- Supervise the accounting and human resource departments.
- Sit on the Leadership Team and in the absence of the President/CEO as the leader of the team.
- Keep up to date on all areas of employment rules, guidelines and regulations pertaining to the needs of agency employees.
- Assumes other responsibilities on personal initiative or as directed by supervisor.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
Experience
- 5-10 years experience directing all aspects of accounting is required.

Emergency Disaster Assistance
As part of the obligation of the agency, all employees, unless otherwise specified, may be required to be available prior to, during and post disaster. Assignments, as required, will be issued in accordance with directives from Senior Resource Alliance, Brevard County Government, and agency Administration.
