The opportunity

The Senior Director of Content will work across our publishing portfolio heavily supporting our VP of Content across sites. You have significant people management experience and will manage a senior level editorial and creative team. You will be responsible for supporting the audience development teams in building, training, managing, empowering, and resourcing teams. You are someone who understands content marketing strategy on a deep level from organic search to cross channel engagement. You also have previous experience working in SEO organic content and publishing and have a strong editorial background
You will work with reports on improving performance management, KPI output, and resourcing. You will operate both strategically and administratively across our audience development department. You will ensure team plans are executed efficiently and effectively through efficient allocation of resources, and the organization, prioritization, and efficient and effective execution of the editorial work that needs to be completed to meet that goal.


What you'll do

  • Direct editorial resource allocation
  • Report on performance management across teams
  • Work with freelance budgeting and invoicing
  • Drive content innovation and cross collaboration with team leads
  • Consistently and cost-effectively produce a higher quality and quantity of Content at scale across sites
  • Ensure TA quality standards and production goals are met
  • Know the ins and outs of each of the topics covered by your teams
  • Create operational efficiencies and processes that work across teams
  • Know how much revenue sites bring in and suggest how we should resource against those numbers
  • Ensure job descriptions and expectations are set and clear for every member of your organization, working closely with other Directors of Content and members of your management team
  • Work with your managers on hiring, training, and management excellence by providing consistent feedback loops and training.
  • Empower your team leads to make calls on what resources they need and how they are prioritizing them
  • Understand what your SEO rep(s) and BD rep(s) are working on and how that plays with the goals of the site teams
  • Work with the VP of Content to understand how your team's strategies work within the organization's goals.
  • Understand how your team leads are setting priorities and production goals for their topics and how, as a whole, the internal needs of those topics should be prioritized within your site plans

Who you are

  • 7+ years in editorial operations and managing teams
  • Previous writing and editing experience
  • Highly collaborative
  • Knowledge of how to create and execute a content strategy
  • Understanding of SEO and content together

Salary Range
TechnologyAdvice seeks to hire top-tier individuals across the world and intends for our compensation to be at a rate that allows us to recruit and retain individuals who align with our core values, purpose, mission, and vision.
Final total compensation is based on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to, skill level, relevant experience to the position, and cost of labor.

Annual pay range

$140,000—$160,000 USD
