United Pacific- Rocket Stores is a fast-growing convenience retailer with close to 500 locations across California, Oregon, Washington and Colorado. As a part of our growth we are looking to add to our in-house legal team.
The Sr. Director FP&A, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is a highly visible role throughout the organization and with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), who leads our Financial Planning and Business Intelligence teams, and oversees our long-term and short-range financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for United Pacific, encompassing nearly 500 retail locations across four states. The Sr. Director will identify and analyze financial data and trends, building correlations between operational metrics to drive strategic and tactical opportunities. They will also ensure a cohesive approach to the financial planning and analysis process, collaborating across functional teams, ensuring established policies and practices for appropriate planning, fiscal monitoring and control processes and efficient financial resource management in furtherance of the organizational goals and objectives. This role is also responsible for reviewing and finalizing the company budget and Headcount planning. The Senior Director of FP&A will also be responsible for internal reporting to ELT and the Board.
This role will requires in-office work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the flexibility to be remote on Monday and Fridays.

Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics is required; Masters is preferred, CPA or MBA preferred.
- Proven understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and financial reporting and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and budgeting is required.
- Knowledge of accounting regulations, compliance, and best practices is required.
- Candidates must have at least three (3) years of management experience. Must possess excellent leadership skills and be capable of managing and mentoring a finance team.
- Able to interact with executive teams as discussion partner with proven experience developing financial presentations for executive teams and board members.
- Must have proven competence in data mining, analysis, and modeling capabilities, expertise in Excel (including Pivot tables and V-lookups) and strong PowerPoint skills, Power BI, and PDI (or other ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft, etc.)
- Working knowledge of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow required.
- Must possess excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to the ability to think creatively.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented, accurate, and inquisitive.
- Experienced in creating and delivering senior management level presentations.
- Experience in the retail industry preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage with little supervision, manage multiple initiatives at one time, and meet deadlines required.
- Ability to develop strong internal relationships with all levels of management, including executive leadership and operations teams; openness to collaboration and feedback; demonstrated ability to build consensus.
