THE POSITION:

The Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will play a critical role in overseeing FanDuel's 2nd-Line function, which involves developing a robust compliance program aligned with regulatory expectations. The Sr. Director ERM will oversee FanDuel's team of Risk Managers, and report directly to the Vice President, Compliance and Enterprise Risk. As the lead of a new vertical, this role may also be tasked with building out other risk functions in partnership with the Vice President, Compliance and Enterprise Risk, and so must be comfortable and conversant in leading various aspects of an Enterprise Risk Management program, including Monitoring & Testing. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to thoroughly comprehend and monitor FanDuel's risk environment and be prepared to adapt and respond proactively to any evolving challenges.

THE GAME PLAN:
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Lead and build out Enterprise Risk Management function, encompassing people, processes, and technology.
  • Develop and implement a Monitoring and Testing function including the hiring of an offshore team to execute the program (Travel Required)
  • Identification of key program areas and second line resourcing needs by function
  • Proactive management of risk through Monitoring &Testing activities of 1st-Line's established processes and controls (e.g., validating compliance requirements as defined in policies, procedures, regulatory organizations; validating audit action items, validating remediation activities on internal controls' observations)
  • Leading and enhancing FanDuel's ERM governance program, including responsibility for the Risk Register and risk reporting
  • Managing and building out FanDuel's team of Risk Managers
  • Issues Management
  • Risk Assessment and Remediation
  • Third Party Risk Management
  • Taking on other projects and/or compliance verticals as necessary
  • Working closely with the FanDuel Risk team to prioritize testing and create an effective controls feedback loop
  • Aligning with Flutter Group Risk Framework requirements in respect to second line assurance activities; and
  • Continually enhancing the culture of Risk and Compliance throughout FanDuel.

This hire must have the aptitude to quickly learn the nuances of an extremely complex and ever-growing company, industry, and regulatory landscape.
  • Being both "Hungry and Humble" is one of FanDuel's key governing principles and will be critical to this person's success.
  • Experience as a seasoned compliance and risk professional who not only knows what an effective compliance monitoring & testing program is, but how to build and manage one in a very complex and highly regulated environment.
  • Experience leading a true second-line Risk Management team.
  • A personality that thrives outside of the box and embraces creativity, innovation and an optimistic "Anything is Possible" attitude.
  • Ability to comfortably gather, analyze, and deliver compliance and risk information to executive leadership to enable alignment on key risks across the company and industry.
  • This role may be required to obtain state gaming licenses from various jurisdictions.
  • 15+ years of total compliance and risk experience, preferably to include working in a variety of roles, including consulting firms, start-ups, and public companies.
  • In-house experience with a highly regulated company and/or a company engaged in rapid growth a strong plus.
  • A passion for people management, team building and a desire to work hard in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling and highly complex environment.

The applicable salary range for this position is $205,000 - $225,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation.

This role includes flexible time off (including unlimited paid time off for full-time employees) and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
