The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people.  We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat.  We also operate the world's largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth, and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. The Position
Reporting to Chief People and Culture Officer, the Senior Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging will collaborate with leadership and staff to develop and deploy tools and resources that create more equitable conditions for all staff. With responsibility for providing consulting and technical assistance across the organization, the Senior Director will ensure Trevor's policies and practices uphold equity principles. The key responsibilities of this position include:

Strategy
Advise the Chief People Officer on strategy and efforts to address structural and institutional concerns about policies, programs, and culture;
Serve as primary thought leader and resource for DEIB, bringing expertise and fluency to strengthen strategies, policies, and practices and help drive an equity-centered and inclusive workplace and programs;
Design and steward learning opportunities around all facets of diversity, equity, inclusion, and Belonging to develop and support a respectful workplace;
Recommend, plan, and lead key strategic DEIB goals;
Identify external DEIB trends, advise on and implement best practices.

Leadership
Drive DEIB goal attainment through program management and defined project plans; manage implementation activities, and develop processes, documentation and communications for program/process rollout and ongoing support;
Facilitate and lead meetings, retreats, and other educational opportunities to deepen and apply DEIB learning and understanding;
Lead intergroup dialogues, moving people to a place of being comfortable with discomfort, change, and growth;
Assist with Employee Affinity Group (EAG) governance; review, analyze and update ERG programming, policies, and procedures; develop and own key progress indicators.
Partnerships and Collaborations
Launch and execute companywide DEIB programming and initiatives in collaboration with key internal stakeholders;
Partner with stakeholders across the organization to embed DEIB competency and practices across teams;
Develop and maintain partnerships that generate the necessary buy-in to achieve shared goals.

The Opportunity

The Position
Reports to: Chief People and Culture Officer

Professional Requirements
The Senior Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging will be a seasoned DEIB leader with cultural competence in the LGBTQ+ space. They will have experience nurturing organizations through their journey to becoming great places to work and creating spaces where all staff can work as their authentic selves and feel a valued part of the team.

The successful candidate must have the following:
Excellent cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to set a strong example of how to build successful teams across divisions;
A deep understanding of DEIB trends and best practices;
Experience developing and implementing DEIB programming and initiatives in complex and
evolving organizations;
Exceptional strategic skills with the ability to address tactical and operational matters as needed;
Strong analytical skills with the capacity to leverage data to inform programmatic decisions and
assess effectiveness;
Competency around intersectionality (LGBTQ, race, gender, culture, ability);
Preferred experience collaborating with Employee Affinity Groups.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $175,000 commensurate with the professional experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
