- Oversee all major communications channels managed centrally by the college, including its online newsroom, IC View magazine in print and digital formats, e-newsletters, and social media accounts.
- Lead and inspire a team engaged in an enthusiastic, continuous, and strategic storytelling effort that conveys the essence of the Ithaca College educational experience. Participate actively in writing and editing, in addition to providing leadership.
- Responsible for ensuring close coordination with academic and administrative units who have responsibility for unit-based social media accounts.
- As a member of the marcomms leadership team, the incumbent will interact with a broad range of campus clients, including but not limited to the president, provost, vice presidents, deans, and others.
- May be asked to take part in certain activities on the college’s Core Emergency Response Team.

- An experienced and enthusiastic leader of storytellers and content generators.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and hire talent, and to mentor and coach staff as appropriate.
- A strategic thinker who understands and embraces the contributions of storytelling to marketing efforts intended to inspire action among specific, segmented audiences.
- A superb writer and editor.
- A seeker of opportunities more than an avoider of risks.
- Experience using metrics and analytics to help guide decision making.
- Strong project management skills and a respect for deadlines.
- A bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in marketing communications, including 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience working in multiple formats and distribution channels, including photo, video, and digital and social media, in addition to writing and editing.
- Higher education experience preferred.
