Job description

LinQuest is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Software Engineer to join our team in the Destin-Fort Walton Beach, FL area. An active Secret clearance is required.

This is an exciting new opportunity to join a growing organization solving our customer’s most difficult challenges delivering support to analytics, mission operations, software development, and cybersecurity and designing next generation weapon systems. We are seeking a DevSecOps Software Engineer to join a software development team supporting a US government customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide full life-cycle process-oriented S/W development and integration support using agile methodologies to support the design, development, and implementation of web-based software components.
  • Engage with a multi-disciplined DevSecOps team performing analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of COTS, GOTS and team deliverables across software development, platform development, and Information Assurance.
  • Evaluate systems design and architecture concepts in support of development project and analysis and apply advanced methods, theories, and technology in the investigation of solution of software applications and problems.
  • Shape and deliver the design of a new, innovative system delivering new capabilities to the community.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or comparable technical field.
  • 7-10+ years working on Agile SCRUM teams and all phases of the product development life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture, technical design, development, test, product release and operations.
  • Amazon Web Services, Azure, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of rapid deployment methodologies and best practices.
  • Full stack software development environments.
  • Working in classified cloud environments.
  • Information Assurance development and executing the Risk Management Framework processes.
  • Open-Source products.
  • Automated software deployments and builds.
  • SaaS, PaaS, IaaS.
  • Agile development team with Sprints and Releases.
  • Major systems acquisition environment.
  • Ability to lead, conduct and/or participate in special projects, audits, and reports.
  • Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, Docker.
  • An active SECRET clearance is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • System development experience,  programming in Java, JavaScript, and C++,  client and server-side web application development (HTML, JavaScript, REST, XML, JSON).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with APIs to integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines, reporting, and automated processes.
  • Ability to articulate and present team status to Program Management and Government Customers.
  • Experience in preparing and/or reviewing technical and programmatic documentation ensuring accuracy and that impacts are identified, understood, and distributed.
  • Experience with open architecture concepts, Agile Software Development, and managing cloud platform development (Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc.).
  • Able to balance and prioritize staff activities and execution to meet changing program priorities and customer needs.
  • Able to translate program leadership goals and objectives into executable, planned user stories and design epics delivered on a fixed schedule.
  • High-level data architectures, design patterns for data systems, data formats (Protocol Buffers, Thrift, Avro, Parquet, Arrow), data access models (OLTP, OLAP), database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, Elastic, Redis, MongoDB, timeseries databases), and data storage / analytics (S3, Minio, HDFS, Snowflake).
  • Event-based architectures, data pipelines, streaming systems (Spark, Flink), schemas, and messaging technologies (Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Microservice-based applications in Python, container technologies, container orchestration, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DoD communications systems and types of mission data (tactical, IP network, voice, ISR, etc.).
  • 15 years of Software Architecture Development experience in IC/DoD programs.
  • SCRUM Master certification.
  • Familiarity with FENCES and/or S-FENCES a plus.
  • TS/SCI eligible clearance.
