- The Senior Development Officer is responsible for being actively engaged in all aspects of fundraising within the organization to include: estate planning, annual giving, capital and major gifts, grants, direct mail, online giving, employee giving, Community Partners program and special events. Establishes and meets fundraising goals for each assigned activity or campaign as approved by the president to assure growth in fundraising. Completes all fiscal responsibilities tied to those events or activities-complete and accurate record and bookkeeping in accordance with organizational policies and standards. The Senior Development Officer has major gifts and capital campaign duties in addition to administrative and decision making responsibilities for specific programs and funds within the Foundation.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience
- Preferred: 5 years' fundraising experience
- Preferred: 7 years and previous fundraising experience in a healthcare setting
- Skills
- Expert knowledge in all aspects of fundraising
- Strong management, organizational and Interpersonal/communication, presentation and writing skills
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Donor software- Raisers Edge and related computer programs
- Proven history of gift attainment
- Ability to manage and create budgets, special event and program budgets
- Ability to work with a diverse set of donors to maintain strong relationships and develop new relationships for the benefit of CoxHealth
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Preferred: Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE)
