SAIC is seeking an expert systems integration CAD Designer and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) expert to join our energized Engineering Innovation Factory Team of solution architects and digital engineers to define and build the infrastructure that fuels the Digital Engineering Transformation across our entire industry. Our work creating digital threads and digital ecosystems span an exciting variety of programs, customers and corporate initiatives requiring Digital Engineering and Model Based Engineering deployed in Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or National Security environments. This position may be remote anywhere within the U.S. for the right candidate.
In this position, you will support the software development and training for projects that exercise practical design applications by leveraging extensive advanced CAD systems. You will use your knowledge of design and PLM processes, methods, tools, and program roles to help develop, implement, and deploy Digital Engineering solutions and services in a fast-paced rapid-prototype environment. You will learn, apply, and continuously improve our current Digital Engineering platform to capture stakeholder and system requirements, facilitate discussion and understanding of digital solutions, and enhance the digital engineering culture. You will engage with other Design Engineers directly supporting programs and foster broader understanding of modeling and assist them in using Digital Engineering work products.
Successful candidate in this position will bring a record of application of innovative design processes and digital engineering/MBSE methods to mature and develop revolutionary digital engineering solutions. You will engage with the larger community (Industry, Government, and Academia) to stay up to date with latest trends and emerging technologies, approaches, methods, and techniques to further mature and or increase our digital engineering capabilities. As part of the team, you will be required to mentor others on our solutions and standards, as well as support proposals and business development activities. Demonstrated presentation and writing skills are required.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelors and 5+ years or more experience; Masters and 3+ years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience setting up and training new users on how to use CAD tools integrated with PLM.
- Expert understanding of workflows and lifecycles for the Design Process
- Experience and willingness to create new processes and procedures on best methods to support design efforts
- Expert level experience working with the latest 3D CAD software. Specifically with a focus on CREO and SolidWorks. Autodesk Inventor a plus.
- Works well in a remote team environment and is able to create and execute tasking to support the team.
- Drive to research new ideas and methods on how to better leverage cutting edge hardware and software to better adapt the design process.
- Must be a US Citizen.
