Overview
Senior Design Drafters use advanced CAD experience, proficiencies and software to create models and drawings of parts, assemblies, and complete products. Senior Design Drafters are responsible for design drafting not only new products but are additionally responsible for evaluating legacy data to update and modify existing designs. Senior Design Drafters are responsible for Design For Manufacturability aspects of all parts and assemblies. Senior Design Drafters are organized individuals who can multitask and prioritize their own workload.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to):
  • Create designs, 3D models, and 2D technical drawings through knowledge of manufacturing and construction processes and to develop and design detailed component specifications.
  • Analyze problems and/or issues of a diverse scope and present solutions to the design team.
  • Lead efforts to create and improve manufacturing design standards and guidelines.
  • Use experience and judgement to manage multiple, complex drafting and design projects and assignments simultaneously, with little to no supervision.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to understand design concepts to establish requirements and project objectives.
  • Work collaboratively and be capable of taking the lead in providing the principal vision of projects.
  • Coaches, mentors, and advises Junior Drafters.
  • Regular and reliable attendance in the office is required.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.
  • Associates degree or higher in drafting, design or similar field preferred.
  • Seven or more years of relative drafting or design experience in Solid Works required, preferably in Sheet Metal.
  • CSWA, CSWP, CSWP-SM, CSWP- Drawings certification(s) preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design and layout using the Solid Works Sheet Metal Module preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCad version 2002 or newer preferred.
  • Familiarity of plastics design, preferred.
  • Team player with strong problem solving, organizational, time management and communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must due to daily interaction with engineers and factory team members.
  • Must have a willingness to learn and be results-oriented.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, follow directions and be flexible to address urgent situations as they occur.
  • Comprehend and evaluate facts and arrive at decisions consistent with company standards and procedures.
  • Must possess a high attention to detail.

The hours for this position are 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
