The Senior Demand Planner operates as the forecasting & demand planning analytics expert in the logistics group, responsible for building and maintaining shipment forecasts for all products at a customer level. Individual will analyze historical shipments as well as wholesaler data sets to build out and report on forecasts at regular intervals. Applying both quantitative and qualitative information captured from the business, you will troubleshoot exceptions and will work closely with supply planning, inventory, sales, and finance teams to enable accurate internal and external inventory availability for customers.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Demand Planning (50%)

  • Maintaining long- and short-term shipment forecasts at the item, customer, and warehouse level.
  • Calculating statistical baseline forecasts and modeling based on cleansed historical information.
  • Reviewing historical sales trends, research demand drivers, develop new statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Building innovation forecasts to support company growth and submit accurate demand projections to supply chain.


2.Reporting & IBP Support (25%)

  • Preparing for the monthly forecast collaboration meetings with cross functional teams.
  • Report prior month's forecast accuracy and assess rolling 3-12 months forward forecast.
  • Preparing and maintaining forecast metrics on a weekly and monthly basis, identifying areas in need of improvement and crafting/communicating recommendations.


3.Analytical & Technical Functions (25%)

  • Ensure the Demand Plan is accurately loaded into the ERP system (QAD) and that system integrity is maintained.
  • Routinely review and analyze historical and current performance while collaborating with sales to develop seasonal or incremental forecast for promotions and other marketing events.
  • Provide input in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product discontinuations.
  • Collaborating to implement process improvements while rolling out new planning software O9.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications, Education, & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Math/Statistics, Supply Chain, Analytical Marketing, Business Operations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience statistical forecasting, statistical modeling, demand planning in CPG industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of effective supply chain performance including supply planning, customer service, and fulfillment.

Skills & Abilities

  • Must have excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate analytical skills into high-level analysis.
  • Outstanding digital literacy; ERP, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability optimally communicate across multiple departments and through multiple levels of the organization
