This position develops a rolling 24-month unit and revenue demand forecast for assigned customers. Sr. demand planner will create and maintain statistical forecast models while incorporating sales business intelligence.
The aligned demand plan will provide desired accuracy levels to drive optimal inventory and service rates in support of business plans and objectives. The process of forecast development is collaborative, requiring strong leadership and partnership. Build and maintain an item level unit and dollarized demand plan over a rolling 24-month horizon using machine learning based statistical models.
Create and maintain statistical forecast profiles best suited to provide the highest level of accuracy at the sku, location, weekly level. Demand Sensing: Monitor shipment and POS demand data to determine patterns, trends, variability to include but not limited to deviations in demand due to weather, competitive situations and customer's inventory strategies. Regular collaboration with commercial sales partners to enhance statistical models with account specific business intelligence including, but not limited to, plan-o-gram reset strategies, new items, new item cannibalization, promotion plans, historical and current POS and shipment trends.
Facilitate and manage monthly forecast pre-demand review meetings with sales team business partners. Prepare analysis to support position and recommendations in clear, concise formats to garner alignment. Clearly document assumptions driving forecast adds/changes to support demand planning process Capture risk and opportunities to the demand plan to communicating to key business partners Participate in monthly Demand Review as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for customer accounts supported.
Create and maintain critical SAP master data elements to ensure accuracy demand plans. Partner with the product development team to ensure volumes and assumptions are captured to support effective and timely new product launches. Frequent cross functional interaction with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service to balance demand and supply.
Analyze and report forecast metric results. Make forecast adjustments and take corrective action in forecast process to minimize error in bias and accuracy. Manage system generated alerts identifying trends and forecast bias for proactive actions Collaborate in the Annual Operating Plan Forecast for assigned Forecast Customers.
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely completion in a fluid environment. Bachelor's degree required in business or related 5+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or similar role Experience in consumer-packaged goods a plus. A strong analytical and quantitative mindset to handle and interpret large amounts of data.
Experience with statistical forecast modeling Comprehensive understanding of demand forecasting systems, SAP (SAP IBP, APO) experience strongly preferred. Strong leadership skills - ability to build relationships with and influence peers to achieve desired business outcome Effectively communicate and manage across functions at various levels Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills. Proven aptitude for multitasking; ability to identify and manage a variety of high priority tasks and provide resolution in a calm and effective manner.
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Strong problem analysis and resolution skills This position is open to a remote working environment with minimal travel requirements. When onsite, working conditions are normal for an office environment.
