The Opportunity

Route is looking for a customer-minded, metrics-driven Head of Merchant Demand Generation to own the scaling of our Demand Generation engine, from top-of-funnel all the way through to revenue realization. The ideal candidate will have "grown up" in marketing as a Demand Generation person, especially in the areas of digital marketing and account-based marketing (ABM). You'll partner with the rest of marketing and sales to flesh out our instrumentation and hit pipeline and revenue goals through compelling digital, events, and account-based marketing campaigns.

What you'll do:

  • Build and execute a multi-channel Demand Generation strategy to help supercharge our growth, including owning budget, forecasting, channel strategy, experimentation, and more
  • Build account-based marketing (ABM) strategies to help larger deals move through the pipeline
  • Partner with sales to build a Demand Generation plan that engages and nurtures target accounts
  • Implement processes with sales leadership to ensure feedback loops exist to monitor lead quality
  • Define KPIs and dashboards to help us measure, optimize, and focus Demand Generation activities on a regular basis
  • Coordinate with lifecycle marketing to ensure we have effective lead nurturing campaigns
  • Build business cases for incremental budget asks
  • Create smart, impactful, and persona-relevant campaigns for all aspects of the buyer journey
  • Establish funnel discipline through solid reporting and/or dashboards, pipeline reviews, and a solid grasp on marketing tech stacks and attribution models

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of Demand Generation experience preferably within a B2B SaaS startup
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding pipeline and revenue targets in a high-growth setting
  • A love of analytics and a proven track record of analyzing campaign performance and identifying actionable insights to achieve your key metrics
  • A/B testing experience to help optimize campaigns and landing pages
  • Outside-in thinker - strives to deeply understand the customer and create programs that connect.
  • Inquisitive and innovative - test and learn mentality with a hunger to leverage the latest technology and methods to drive growth
  • Excellent communicator who can clearly convey complex ideas and data in written, presentation, and verbal formats to executives and team members
  • Experience with a SaaS marketing tech stack
  • Strong project management skills including production schedules, budgets, stakeholder coordination, and agency/vendor oversight
  • Analytical (Data-driven): Partner with marketing ops to create and analyze campaign reports and dashboards to provide meaningful insights and recommendations
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience optimizing spend across various Demand Generation channels (e.g. Google, LinkedIn)

Pay Transparency:

Salary for this role: $100,000 - $128,000 + Bonus (depending on experience)

The cash compensation above includes base salary, and is not reflective of potential commission for employees in eligible roles, or annual bonus targets under Route's bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all Route employees are eligible to participate in Routes equity incentive plan to receive stock options per the terms of the agreement. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their career level, skills, experience, specific geographic location qualifications and other job-related reasons.
