Job description

**The candidate for this role must be willing to work at the client site in Washington, DC 2 days a week.**
ICF’s Digital Modernization division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology department, seeking a Senior Database Developer to support upcoming needs with our federal customer.
Our Digital Modernization division is an information technology and management consulting department that offers integrated, strategic solutions to its public and private-sector clients. The Team:
ICF’s Digital Modernization Division (DMD) is a leading information technology and management consulting department, providing integrated, strategic solutions to clients in both the public and private sectors. Within DMD, our dedicated professionals specialize in spearheading digital modernization efforts, facilitating a smooth transition from legacy systems to the cutting-edge Appian platform. The Work:
As a member of the DMD team, you'll play a vital role in guiding organizations through the process of transitioning from legacy systems to the Appian platform. We focus on Appian implementation, ensuring tailored solutions that seamlessly integrate into our clients' operations. Collaborating with public and private entities, we prioritize a user-centric approach, employing design principles for intuitive interfaces. Our commitment to innovation and best practices, coupled with an agile methodology, ensures we deliver transformative results in dynamic environments.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Be able to work with clients, peers, and management in a highly visible, mission critical environment.
  • Be able to gather, organize, prioritize technical requirements.
  • Designing database structures & good understanding of data modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of Materialized views and query rewrite functionality.
  • Develop PL SQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers.
  • Develop data transformation and validation scripts.
  • Develop Unix scripts for automatic processing of back-end jobs.
  • Maintenance of all database objects and purging process of large tables.
  • Performance tuning which impacts the UI and back-end jobs.
  • Work on product support on analysis, fix and patch release process.
  • Provide emergency production support to mission critical operations.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle and MariaDB/MySQL databases
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing a migration plan for large data sets and complex data architectures
  • 5+ years of experience with integrating database operations with Business Process Modeling PaaS tools such as Appian
  • 5+ years of experience with procedure coding, demonstrating excellent capabilities in crafting efficient and optimized code
  • 3+years experience in debugging queries and enhancing query performance for optimal system efficiency.
  • 3+ years of experience in elevating overall database performance through strategic optimizations and enhancements.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong sense of ownership
  • Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with debugging tools.
  • Should be willing to work as individual capacity and in teams across the organization.
  • Able to manage dependencies and timely manage priority.
  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Open-minded, flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations while being focused on delivery.
