Job description

Make a difference and join an enthusiastic team looking to make a difference in the lives of today’s military! CACI is looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as a record of accomplishment in successful project execution.

The DBA will be working on client site in New Orleans, LA at Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic for an HIV Management System Project. They must be familiar with C++, C#, ASP, SQL Server, and Modern .NET web development.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • The Database Administrator will administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
  • Coordinate changes to computer databases. Will identify, investigate, and resolve database performance issues, database capacity, and database scalability.
  • May be responsible for development of hardware lists, software lists, network diagrams, network data flow diagrams, SOPs and other documentation as required.
  • You will also play a key role in supporting a new data transformation and migration project moving from legacy databases to a new database environment. You will be part of a team where complex problem solving and communication skills are critical to success.
  • Identify data anomalies, address data issues by applying data validation rules and remediation routines.
  • Provide support to production environment data ingestion processes.
  • Work cooperatively with functional and technical staff, to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Responsible for supervising a small team consisting of experienced professionals. Prioritize and review work of a team that exercises latitude and independence in their assignments. Has ability to recommend and influence decisions within own area, in accordance with manager review and approval.
  • Twelve (12) years of hands-on experience with Information Technology, to include three of the following areas: Systems Requirements, Project Management and Strategic Planning, HIPAA requirements, Medical Systems, Operational Requirements, Enterprise Strategic Planning and operations, Enterprise systems incident management, Test & Evaluation, and Training.
  • Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in one or more of: medical systems; advanced system architecture; information assurance; hardware technologies; digital/analog communications technologies; applied physics; human factors engineering; computer simulation; electronic sensor technologies; and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Able to work with highly technical IT personnel, understand technical tasking, and explain technical activities to non-technical individuals.
  • The team follows agile methodology. Will logon to remote servers, navigate those environments, and execute programs from a Unix and Windows PowerShell prompt.
  • Must be proficient in writing SQL in an SQL Server or Oracle environment.
  • Experience working in a web development team is desirable.
  • Experience working with a team of developers with codebase in C++ or C#

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have active Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s or above degree in relevant field
  • 5+ years SDLC support experience
  • 5+ years SQL DBA experience
  • Must have experience in SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration
  • Experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) of data from diverse databases and file structures to leverage in a different target system
  • Experience in data validation and cleaning to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Knowledge of .Net, C++, C#, ASP, Modern .Net web development and VB
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated writing/editing skills
  • Able to work with highly technical IT personnel, understand technical tasking, and explain technical activities to non-technical individuals
  • Able to effectively manage client expectations and managing client, customer relationships
  • Full accountability for the execution and delivery of multiple projects as related to software development activities
  • Prepare and deliver software deliverables and scope execution requirements established by customer
  • Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements
  • Security+ certification and/or other IAT Level II or III certification

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Toad, SQL Developer or DBeaver
  • Experience with Agile Development
  • Familiarity with Cloud hosting or Amazon Web hosting services
  • Familiarity with Agile Development
  • Able to work with highly technical IT personnel, understand technical tasking, and explain technical activities to non-technical individuals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Develop and maintain software requirements as it relates to user requirements and existing software defects
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
