Position Summary...
What you'll do...
The Senior Data Scientist at Sam's Club AI Labs will spearhead the development of AI and machine learning solutions across our retail domains across operations, merchandising, finance, conversational AI, and e-commerce. Your key focus will be on crafting and deploying machine learning models that drive business value and enhance our member experience. The role will be responsible to manage the full life cycle of projects, build MLOps framework for continuous deployment of data science algorithms, and engage cross-functional teams in an agile environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to merge retail expertise with AI to drive transformative change in our business.

What you'll do:
  • Drive the design and development of cutting edge ML models and solutions across retail core domains across operation, merchandising, finance, conversational AI and e-commerce areas
  • Execute full life cycle of projects through project planning, data collection, model prototyping and deployment, with responsibilities encompassing stakeholder management and communication to cross-functional partners.
  • Partner closely with Product and engineering to inform, drive and accelerate innovations in discovery experiences via Insights, frameworks, causal inference solutions and machine learning prototypes
  • Build MLOps framework to create, build and deploy data science algorithms through continuously test and experimentations

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in the design, development and deployment of large-scale production machine learning systems
  • Skilled in Programming language (Python, Pyspark) and Large-scale training using data structures and algorithms
  • Extensive experience with machine learning and deep learning packages (scikit-learn, lightGBM, Tensorflow or PyTorch).
  • Experience with cloud environments including Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Solid MLOps practices including good design documentation, unit testing, integration testing and source code control (git).
  • Experienced with agile methodologies using project planning and tracking management tools e.g., JIRA
  • 5 years' experience in building Machine Learning based models in a professional environment
  • Master degree with 3-year industrial experience or PhD degree with 1-year industrial experience

Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
