As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll lead the development of machine learning models to identify and mitigate fraud risks, and contribute directly to the efficiency and growth of Shipt. You will design and implement fraud detection frameworks to enhance customer experiences, and safeguard our platform against fraudulent activities. Your expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and coding (Python) will be instrumental in solving complex problems and protecting our community.Every day you will spend your time collaborating with Risk and Trust & Safety teams to evaluate and mitigate risk by designing and building machine learning systems for real-time fraud detection, moving from prototype to production. You will engage in discussions with stakeholders to understand the fraud and risk requirements specific to data science, ensuring that your efforts are aligned with Shipt's strategic objectives. You will develop and implement machine learning solutions to automate fraud detection processes, enhancing the platform's security and efficiency. You will proactively collect data from various sources, ensuring a comprehensive dataset is available for analysis and model training, thereby enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of your fraud detection efforts. You will analyze the data collected to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies associated with fraudulent activities
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related quantitative fields.
- 2+ years of working experience with statistical inference, A/B tests, causal inference, experimentation, and/or predictive modeling
- Machine learning knowledge (Supervised Learning models).
- SQL skills (e.g. Spark, Snowflake, Postgres, Hive, Redshift, etc)
- 3+ years of experience in programming skills in Python (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, pytorch, TensorFlow, or other data science packages).
- Familiarity with machine learning and engineering tools (Airflow, Spark, MLflow, Kubernetes, Github, etc.).
Work Arrangement:
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis.
