Senior Data Engineer/Architect

Our client is a global leader in space exploration and is a seeking a Senior Data Engineer/Architect.

Job Profile Summary:
The Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining data processing software like databases. In addition to creating and maintaining an optimal pipeline architecture, typical duties and responsibilities include the ability to create unique data infrastructure, running tests on designs to isolate errors and updating systems to accommodate changes in company needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
• Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
• Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies
• Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
• Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
• Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues
• Review Interface document and information exchange requirements associated with Command, Control, Communications Battle Management (C3BM) systems to understand data needs.
• Perform Data Science and Data Engineering (related to C3BM): Capture sources of, and classify and/or categorize, data related to C3BM. 
• Build algorithms to support model development.  Design, maintain, and optimize data infrastructure for data collection, management, transformation, and access.
• Create schema to organize data and represent the structural representation of databases.  Use Lego bricks to create data stories.
• This is less about Data Analytics and more about Data Engineering and Data Science (i.e. Data Structures/Types, Schemas, Data Networks)

Job Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 10 years experience in Data Engineering in a B2B or B2C environment
• Comfortable with experimental design
• Advance knowledge of statistics and SQL skills
• Extremely attentive to detail, data accuracy, and quality of output
• Python, R,  and machine learning skills a plus
• Azure/Cloud environment expertise
• Candidate must have secret clearance
