Senior Data Engineer

Description

This role is categorized as Hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Roswell, GA, Austin, TX or Warren, MI 3 times per week, at minimum.

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Role:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build industrialized data assets and optimize data pipelines in support of Advance Analytic objectives. You will work closely with our forward-thinking Data Scientists, BI Developers, System Architects and Data Architects to deliver value to our vision for the future. What You'll Do:

• Communicates and maintains Master Data, Metadata, Data Management Repositories, Logical Data Models, Data Standards
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• You will assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
• You will identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build industrialized analytic datasets and delivery mechanisms that utilize the data pipeline to deliver actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
• Work with business partners on data-related technical issues and develop requirements to support their data infrastructure needs
• Create highly consistent and accurate analytic datasets suitable for business intelligence and data scientist team members

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a big Data Warehouse shop.
• Mastery of programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, Scala, or R, with expertise in data manipulation, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with big data frameworks, Kubernetes and tools like Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, etc for processing and analyzing large-scale datasets.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc., and their data services
• Mentorship proficiency in data modeling techniques, database design principles, ETL coding and mastery of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data privacy regulations, and experience implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, understand their requirements, and deliver data solutions that meet their needs.
• Consistently demonstrates strong critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills with an ability to automate by keen observation

• Experience with Azure Cloud services
