Product Cyber Security Engineer (Multiple Openings):

Join the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) team as a Product Cyber Security Engineer focusing on Design and Development of airborne Cyber Security architecture.  Ensure our next-generation vertical lift aircraft are designed, built and maintainable for cyber resiliency and survivability.  Engage in this fast-paced program through cross-functional groups, designing cyber systems and processes throughout the product lifecycle, while staying aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.  

Position Responsibilities:

Duties may include but are not limited to designing and developing aircraft systems, deriving and allocating aircraft architecture design requirements, architectural analysis, and design implementation.  Systems must conform with DoDI 8510.01/8500.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for authorization, and will undergo Cyber Survivability Endorsement, threat management, mitigation, and the implementation of all applicable controls.  Serve as a liaison for various engineering functions and review/validate/remediate the impact all design changes to existing and in-development platforms.

A day in the life:Engage in the flight controls, avionics, or mission system architecture development and influence design for Cyber Security.  Conduct analytics of design options, identify risks and mitigation steps.  Prove designs through prototyping and Development in our state-of-the-art System Integration Labs (SILs).  But more than anything, it's about being open-minded and inquisitive about what's possible and to bring the most innovative ideas to life. Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required (experience in lieu of a degree may be considered).
  • Prefer Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EE), Electronic Engineering in Technology (EET), Computer Science, and/or Cyber Security degree.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience at all levels will be considered.   Positions at various Engineering levels will be offered, depending on experience.
  • At least 2 years of Design and Development experience in product cybersecurity or safety in Aerospace (commercial or military) or automotive systems or embedded systems 
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative technical environment and negotiate Design andCyber Security technical trade-offs with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and throughout the organization.
  • The ability to develop and communicate product Cyber Security requirements and perform residual risk assessments in accordance with Bell's product Cyber Security policies and methods is required.
  • Knowledge of military and civilian Cyber Security aircraft standards, including RTCA DO-326A and DO-356A is preferred.
  • Strong logical, analytical, and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience designing tactical, airborne or embedded systems.
  • Experience with airborne device authentication, embedded cross domain solutions, tactical cryptographic key management and intrusion protection technologies.
  • Possess DoD 8570 IAM or IAT Level I certification at a minimum (i.e., Security CE, CAP, CSSLP, etc..).
  • Working knowledge of aircraft systems (avionics, flight controls, mission systems, electronic warfare, etc.)
  • Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) experience is preferred.
  • Familiarization with Cyber Survivability Endorsement Implementation Guide (CSEIG)
  • Experience and/or familiarity with architectural design analysis, digital signing, software authenticity, root of trust systems, plus threat and vulnerability analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to create plans, procedures, and briefing material(s) for program presentations to USG.
  • Familiarity around Critical Program Information Assessments (CPIA) for identifying Critical Program Information (CPI), Critical Functional Analysis (CFA), and Anti-Tamper.
