Job description

Cyber Security Engineer job in Aurora, Colorado is available with GeoLogics top Aerospace/Defense company. In this job you will support the operations and maintenance of custom solutions and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities. To qualify for this job you will be a U.S. Citizen with active Secret security clearance and strong cyber experience across the full spectrum of cyber operations from a mission execution perspective, to include vulnerability management, compliance management, database, and enterprise information security infrastructure.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain security documentation
  • Coordinate packages for Information Risk & Assessment Management Program (IRAMP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorizations
  • Maintain Approval to Operate (ATO) for numerous Programs of Record; Prepare documentation to support A&A activities; Analyze and resolve Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms); and Conduct Annual Control Validations
  • Review documentation in support of RMF authorizations; Analyze/Review for content / alignment with security controls; consistency across documents; and classification markings
  • Create Security Impact Assessment (SIA) Request Packages; Analyze proposed changes to the system for security impacts; create time-critical SIA Packages; and Route packages through Authorizing Official/Designating Representative (AODR) for required approvals
  • Write Deficiency Reports (DRs) for tasks to address identified gaps and coordinate with appropriate POCs
  • Ensure the security integrity of systems of record by maintaining basic cyber hygiene, implementing cyber resiliency solutions, and performing associated compliance validation/verification.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required
  • Cyber Security Engineering projects and programs for U.S. Government clients.
  • NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-37, Continuous Monitoring IAW NIST 800-137, Patching IAW NIST 800-40, and CNSSI 1253.
  • Familiarity with Security Control Guides (SCGs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), topology diagrams, Ports, Protocols & Services (PPS), Program Protection Implementation Plans (PPIPs) and System Security Plans (SSPs) 
  • Recognize how non-standard documentation can support the RMF package and find efficient ways to address documentation requirements.
  • Experience submitting RMF ATO Packages.
  • Security Certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II (Security+ or equivalent) 
 
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Advanced degree in STEM with 8+ years of engineering experience. 
  • Security Certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M IAT-III (CISSP or equivalent)
  • Understanding of DoD RMF A&A Processes, evaluating and validating compliance with IA controls and developing and maintaining associated security documentation. 
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity controls applied to common Network Devices, Appliances and their respective operating systems. 
 
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
  • Title: Cyber Security Engineer 05 (US Citizenship REQUIRED)
  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret 
  • Location: Aurora, Colorado 80011 (No relocation package)
  • Pay Range: $93/hr - $103.61/hr W2 (an hour worked is an hour paid)
  • Type: W2 hourly Contract (40 hrs), No 1099, No third parties, No C2C
  • Duration: This position may transition to a full time, direct hire with our customer.  
  • Work Schedule: 5/40
