Title: Senior Customer Support Engineer- Diagnostics - 105416
Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position


Your Responsibilities


As a Senior Customer Support Engineer- Diagnostics, you will share your passion for creating a great customer experience in John Deere products. You will be part of the Integrated Technology Readiness Team leading the development process for creating diagnostic strategies on internal combustion engines to help guide our dealer technicians and customers to diagnose and repair issues more efficiently.

In addition, you will:


  • Champion customer and technician needs including diagnostics, repair, maintenance, machine data, prognostics, uptime, and aftermarket portfolio for John Deere
  • Be a core member of the Next Generation Engine team collaborating to provide design input and product requirements on all new engine programs.
  • Lead the diagnostic development process for creating robust and effective diagnostic tests, calibrations within John Deere service tools.
  • Work with a global team to define, develop, test, and implement innovative diagnostic strategies for new and current products.
  • Gather voice of the customer and technician feedback for engine diagnostics used in all John Deere and OEM products.

What Skills You Need


  • Practical electro-mechanical system diagnostic experience
  • Experience in product design of electrical/electronic systems
  • Experience with On Board Diagnostics (OBD)
  • Experience developing and calibrating engine controls or diagnostics
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits and components
  • Factory experience including regular interfacing with engineering teams
  • Ability to travel, up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and timely execution
  • Effective technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in CAN bus communication (data collection and analysis)
  • Experience with industry diagnostic related tools and protocols such as Service ADVISOR, Cat ET, INSITE, and SMARTASSIST
  • Familiarity with tools like CANalyzer, ODX file editor, and CANdela
  • Understanding and working level knowledge of SAE J1939 and ISO 14229 standard- Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) standards
  • Diesel engine fundamentals knowledge

Education


Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • University Degree (4 years or equivalent) in an Engineering/Technology discipline
