Position Details Dept Number/Name: 0-0427-000 / Marshall Student Center College Division: Student Success Salary Plan: Staff Job Code/Title: 6527 / Sr Custodial Worker Hiring Salary: $35,914 annually Position Number: 00017569 ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Marshall Student Center is a 240,000 SF facility that serves as the living room of student life at USF and the gathering place for the campus. The center includes an 1100 seat ballroom, a 700-seat theater, 350 multipurpose room, and 22 other meeting/conference rooms. The MSC supports over 14,000 events annually and houses offices for Student Government, Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement, the Center for Student Involvement, New Student Connections, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

USF Dining is housed in the building and oversees the food operation. POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Custodial Worker is responsible for assigning and overseeing the work of general custodial employees and assisting in general and detailed cleaning. They ensure that all cleaning supplies for the shift are in order and ready for the team.

The Senior Custodial Worker helps to maintain the overall orderly appearance of the Marshall Student Center ensuring that all cleaning work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner. RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervise the assignments and enforcement of standards of staff members on assigned shift. Complete quality assurance checks by walking the building and observing work completed by staff members and complete supervisor logs at the end of each shift.

Assist in the performance of tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, spot cleaning, dusting and polishing furniture and other items, cleaning glass panes and washing windows, cleaning restrooms and removing trash throughout the building. Operating and maintaining housekeeping equipment (including vacuums, buffers, shampoo extractors, and wet/dry vacuums). Assist the Custodial supervisor and resolve personnel and disciplinary problems by reporting any problems or issues that occur on assigned shift or any instance that will directly affect the work of the custodial staff.

Assist with the completion of any disciplinary action for staff members in conjunction with the Custodial Supervisors and RMD HR. Assist with the completion of annual evaluations for staff members on assigned shift. Pre evaluations are to be completed quarterly.

Assist with the floor care of the Marshall Student Center to include including stripping, waxing, shampooing, vacuuming, and buffing. Assist in the scheduling and assignment of work for staff members on assigned shift. Assignments are delegated at the beginning of each shift and displayed in the custodial break room.

Lead custodial staff members will be available to provide access to any room to staff members and will carry the appropriate keys and swipe access card. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires completion of the 9th grade and one year of cleaning/custodial experience.

A valid Florida Driver's License may be required if motorized vehicles of any kind are operated. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Custodial experience, supervisory experience, use of commercial cleaning equipment and understanding of cleaning and sanitary techniques. SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING: Supervisory experience, knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies, knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing techniques.
