Senior Cost Accountant

Location - Hybrid (La Farge, WI HQ - 3 days per week/Remote - 2 days per week)

Summary of Role
The Senior Cost Accountant performs duties related to the recording of costs for raw material, work-in-process and finished goods in the ERP system, records month-end variance and adjusting journal entries, calculates new standard rates each budget year and prepares cost quotes for new items upon request.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Maintain documentation of processing fees from contract manufactures.
o Generate and analyze purchase price variance reports.
o Calculate and maintain product standard costs.
o Analyze standard to actual cost of goods sold variances.
o Prepare formula validations for review.
o Preparation of production reports for month-end 
o Maintain appropriate documentation for new standards' development in accordance with the annual budgeting process.
o Maintain a schedule of critical month-end procedures and processes.
o Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit and production variances.
o Provide support documentation to all 3rd party auditors.
o Ensure month-end close activities related to cost accounting are completed timely and accurately.
o Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations for accounts in assigned area of responsibility.
o Timely and accurate completion of duties.
o Regular and punctual attendance, physical presence in the workplace when required.
o Subject matter expert for SAP migration project.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Ability to work in our La Farge, Wisconsin offices 2-3 days each week.
o Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
o 5-7 years' work experience in a robust automated accounting environment.
o Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
o Technical accounting knowledge and skills including knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
o Experience with complex platform ERP implementation is a plus. 
o Organizational skills and attention to details.
o Demonstrated knowledge in MS office and SAP accounting software preferred.
o Demonstrated ability to analyze data and develop solutions to solve problems.
o Ability to listen actively, problem solve, and communicate with other departments. 
o Ability to manage, adapt and intentionally promote change. 
o Self-starter with initiative and desire to promote process improvements and efficiencies.
o Can do, positive mentality assisting to reach the team and Cooperative's goals.
o Ability to handle a diverse workload, multiple tasks, and deadlines as well as project management.
o Limited travel to other cooperative sites or training may be required.
Base salary range: $64,730 - $83,470 (Minimum - Midpoint of the pay grade)
This salary range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the salary range, and hiring at the maximum of the salary range is not typical.
