About this role:
The Senior Coordinator, Golf Ball Conformance collaborates closely with the Assistant Director, Equipment Rules and Conformance to coordinate the flow of Golf Ball Conformance, test service, and check test submissions to the USGA Equipment Standards department. The Senior Coordinator also works closely with the Equipment Standards Testing staff to ensure that KPIs are met, including the ISO Quality Objectives, specifically the timely creation and uploading of the joint List of Conforming Golf Balls monthly. The Senior Coordinator will work with the R&A to ensure accuracy of the List and, with the Assistant Director, coordination of submission guidelines. The Senior Coordinator also maintains and enhances positive working relationships with all Golf Ball submitters.
What you'll do:
Coordinates the USGA Golf Ball Conformance process, which includes:
- maintaining/updating the Golf Ball Database (DTS) and associated records,
- intake, screening, and database entry of Golf Ball submissions/samples received from manufacturers for monthly Conformance Testing, Test Service and Check Testing.
- monitoring the in-house testing process to meet deadline dates.
- issuing Golf Ball Conformance testing results and notifications, including associated data (e.g., Summary Data Reports).
- preparing test reports and customer invoices.
- ensuring that submitters are notified of Golf Balls that will be expiring/dropping from the List in a timely manner; and,
- in coordination with the Assistance Director and the R&A, updating the Annual Ball Submission Guidelines for distribution to all U.S.-based Golf Ball manufacturers.
- Manages the Test Service for Golf Balls, which includes:
- maintaining/updating the Test Service database and associated records,
- intaking, screening, database entry, and tracking of Golf Ball submissions/samples submitted for Test Service.
- compiling and communicating Test Service Data Reports to manufacturers; and, invoicing manufacturers and returning samples in a timely manner.
Manages, with the Assistant Director, the publication of the USGA/R&A List (the List) of Conforming Golf Balls, which includes:
- working with The R&A, Assistant Director, IT Department (when necessary) and in-house Developer to ensure on-time and accurate posting of the List; and,
- in coordination with the in-house Developer, identifying and resolving any errors and/or program-related issues in both the PDF and Electronic versions of the List.
Coordinates, with the Assistant Director and Head, the Golf Ball Check Test Program, which includes:
- working with PGA TOUR staff to schedule and collect Golf Ball samples at selected Tour events.
- in coordination with Assistant Director, Assistant Director of Testing, and Head, identifying and acquiring Golf Balls from retail outlets for market check testing; and,
- intake and preparation of all Check Test Golf Balls for testing, as well as monitoring testing progress, comparing check test results to equivalent conformance submissions, and creating testing result notifications, as necessary.
- Identifies and implements, through discussion with the Assistant Director and/or in-house Developer, and with approval from the management team and/or Head, value-added improvements to the Ball Conformance process and to the Golf Ball Database.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director, Equipment Rules and Conformance and Senior Management.
Where you'll be:
- This role will be based at our Pinehurst, NC campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3-4 days per week working in the office, between Monday through Friday.
What you bring:
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Previous administrative experience, with strong organization skills.
- Previous experience with accounting-based software applications, and database management, strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently with impeccable time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and the public.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft software applications, including Word, Access, and Excel. Experience with database management preferred.
- Excellent typing and data entry skills.
- Knowledge of golf and golf equipment preferred.
